Crosses and Crucifixes

A crucifix is a cross that carries the figure of Christ, called the corpus; a cross without the figure is simply a cross. Catholic churches place a crucifix on or near the altar, and many Catholic homes hang one on the wall, while many Protestant churches use an empty cross as a sign of the Resurrection.

This collection has wall crucifixes and crosses, standing and altar crucifixes, San Damiano crucifixes, Saint Benedict crucifixes, sick call crucifix sets for bringing the sacraments to the sick at home, and processional crucifixes. See also San Damiano crosses, Saint Benedict crosses and crucifixes and Celtic crosses.
